Sun was elected as part of the 2025 class of 100 new members for her work elucidating the self versus non-self RNA discrimination mechanism for the RIG-I-like receptors, revealing macromolecular assemblies that set a paradigm for sensing foreign nucleic acids in the innate immune system.
