Congratulations to Kevin Struhl, David Wesley Gaiser Professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, on being awarded the 2025 Edward Novitski Prize from the Genetics Society of America. Kevin is being recognized for his many pioneering achievements in gene regulation and transcription, including the first cloning of a functional eukaryotic gene in E. coli, definition of its promoter and regulatory region, and identification of determinants of specificity using random DNA and amino acid sequences.
