The Genetics Society of America awarded Dr. Welcome Bender, the Harold T. White Professor of BCMP, the 2020 Edward Novitski Prize for extraordinary creativity and intellectual ingenuity in genetics research in recognition of his work in revealing the molecular nature and regulation of the bithorax gene complex.  Congratulations, Welcome!
